Perry House & Other News

We will soon be meeting with our realtor to work on putting together an offer for the house we want on Perry Street. I’ve been featuring pictures from that house here, here, here and here. Along with the pictures I list some of the changes I would make to those rooms.

Here are some more rooms and things I would change about them-

(oooooh garages are exciting. I know, I know)

Eventually I would like to give the garage walls a nice coat of fresh white paint. But that isn’t going to happen until I have everything else finished in the house and am bored. I would, however, like some more work benches. That is doable. And do some cleaning too. There is a really nice attic space that is accessible from the garage. I love lots of storage space!

Since garages aren’t everyone’s thang I will also talk about the front living room. You can get to this room from the hallway or there is a pocket door from the kitchen.

Lovely carpet, wouldn’t you agree?

My ideas-

- either continue wood floors in here or get new carpet. (not sure which yet)

- paint all wood and trim white

- Keep or nix the built-in ? (not sure on this either)

- Take down those awful curtains

- I think the front door is newer, but definitely need different hardware.

One thing I haven’t noted here yet in any of the room posts- I need to change out ALL light switches and outlets. That whole dingy off-white look isn’t really what I’m going for. YUCK!

What are your thoughts? Hardwood or carpet? Keep or nix the built-in cabinet? I’d love to hear what you think!

In other news- my hubby has an appointment set for next week Tuesday at an eye doctor in Grand Rapids. He is going to a screening to see if he is available for Lasik eye surgery! I am so excited for him. I can’t imagine waking up in the morning and not being able to read the clock. How annoying! I hope this works out. He is meant to be wearing his glasses from now until the appointment- no contacts. He is  hating that. They are in rough shape, his glasses. They even have some tape around the edge. Make sure to point it out if you run into him anytime soon! Winking smileI will keep you updated as this progresses.

Thanks for looking!
