When we looked at the house back before the renters moved in, I noticed the previous owners had left most of the curtains and blinds. They look like they were very good quality stuff back in the day. But they are nothing I am wanting to keep. I started a pile in the middle of the floor.
They went into the dump because I don't have the time or energy to do anything else with them.
We also started removing ALL of the old carpet. It's an absolutely disgusting job.
Much better! I definitely prefer the subfloor to that gross carpet. And the smell in the house is starting to improve. I believe the renters allowed their dog to use the carpet as a toilet. Sick!
Now to remove lots of tack strips and thousands of staples!
