Juicing Fast Gone Bad

I recently watched a documentary on an Australian man that was on a juice fast to achieve better health. If you’d like to see it, you can find it here.

It was very interesting and motivating. I decided I wanted to try a juice fast to see if it could help with some health issues I’ve been having.

I asked my husband if he wanted to do it with me. He decided he did. So I did a little research to find a good ‘starter’ juicer.

I found this one-

A Hamilton Beach juicer 67650. It had good reviews and was on sale on Walmart.com. I got it shipped for free to my house in two days.

But let me back up a little.

The advice they gave on the reboot your life website was this- Start slow and begin adding more fruits and vegetables to your everyday diet. If you have a lot of caffeine, start to slowly diminish your caffeine intake before starting the fast.

I told this to my husband. But he wanted to go full throttle starting on Monday of this week. Quit. Cold turkey. He ALWAYS had a morning latte. And usually an early evening latte. And sometimes a bedtime snack latte. He was completely addicted.

This is how our texting went on Monday- (I got his ok to post these)

So far, so good.

And then I get this text half way through the day.

I’m a little concerned because I have a feeling the worst is yet to come.

And it does.

Things have gone bad. If you can tell, my oldest is texting him questions about baseball during his suffering.

Then, I don’t see this next text until he walks through the door an extra half hour early from work.

So, not such a great experience for my husband. I had it easy compared to him. I just experienced a dull headache and some nausea.

We decided to try to juice and eat a vegan diet this week. We’ll see what we feel up to after that.

But I sure do love using my new juicer!

Does anybody out there juice? Or have a juicer? Or try a juicing fast? (maybe we are the only crazy ones)

    HAHA!
Sorry, I don't mean to laugh at his pain, but that just made me die of laughter a little.

    Hope things get better!
