Fire and Rice

I was absolutely freezing this morning.

I just couldn't get warm.

And then I remembered I  just bought a bag of rice.

Time to make a rice pillow. I used to have four or five of them but they got ruined in the great basement flood of '13. I had to throw them all in the garbage.

It took me a whole 7 minutes to make.

I always have my sewing machine ready to go at any time. I grabbed some fabric from my stash and cut it to the size I wanted.

I sewed all the way around except for a three inch hole opening. I poured in the rice. I also put in one bag of tea from this box of tea I just purchased. Then I top-stitched the pillow shut.

There you have it.
Put it in the microwave for 3 minutes. Instant warmth.

I went to an estate sale in Grandville today. It would have been a good one to get to earlier. Today was the second day. There wasn't much left but everything that was left was half off.

I scored.
 $40

It's not perfect. In fact, it's a little small. But it's so pretty.
It makes me more motivated to get started!

Have a great weekend!
